What is Auriculotherapy?

In auriculotherapy, the ear is a micro-system of the whole body, as the foot is in reflexology, and there are over 200 acu-points on each ear. It has been proven to release endorphins, regulate hormones, reduce cortisol levels, and boost the immune system. Ear seeds or   acupuncture needles are quick and simple to apply and cost very little, treatments are usually given in groups.

Auricular Acupuncture, also referred to as Ear Acupuncture, is used in addiction services around the world, originating at the Lincoln Clinic in New York in the late 1970’s, where the five-point NADA protocol was   perfected. NADA (National Acupuncture Detox Assoc) is now a worldwide community with branches in many countries. The five-point NADA protocol was developed to alleviate withdrawals, reduce cravings, calm the mind, and to aid sleep.

In the last twenty years the evidence base and use of NADA has expanded into other areas where it is used to support women’s health, in mental health settings, and in cancer clinics to support people undergoing chemotherapy. The NADA protocol is also helpful for pain relief, relaxation, stress relief, anxiety, sleep, low mood, immune support, and overall body balancing.
